Customized Deep Drawn Metal Lamp Base
Overview:
In this success story, we will explore a case where a British customer approached us in need of a customized lamp base. We finally utilized deep drawing processing techniques to meet their requirements. Through more than twenty times designing, revise and adjustments to the 3D drawings and three samples production, we successfully delivered a solution that exceeded the customer's expectations.
Situation:
The customer just has simple concept for their demand product and requires lowest manufacture cost, no drawing, no picture, no sample, only product name “lamp part” is available at the beginning.
Solution:
1. Communication with the customer:
Since the customer finds us, we have been keeping consistent communication.
First, we make design draft according to the customer’s description for product and requirement then communicated related details.
Aluminum lamp base sample by machining first time is sent to customer for checking after drawing is confirmed. Customer feel cost is high.
Second, we reduce the cost a lot by changing the raw material into steel from aluminum.
Meanwhile, the surface gets better by extra chrome plating.
New steel lamp base sample with chrome plating by machining is sent to customer for checking. But customer wants to try new design and decreases the cost again.
Finally, we make new design as per customer’s new idea and application requirement, abandoning previous machining process and adopting deep drawing process
The customer is satisfied with third sample.
2. Design and Adjustments:
From order to knowing the customer’s requirement, we have several video meeting to communicating with customers.
To accurately provide the customer with perfect product, our engineer spends some time studying and making the design according to customer’s actual demand and feasibility.
It makes sense to manufacture actual samples to let customer check.
It is important to keep close communication with customer, production department and related staff.

3. Deep Drawing Processing:
We used deep drawing process, which can make good product shape, good consistence and decrease the product unit cost. And many industries need products by this manufacture way. We have more than 20 years’ experience in deep drawing field.
4. Final result:
After 6 months’ communication and samples process, finally the customer extremely loves the product we provided for them and places bulk order to us.
