Metal stamping is a cold-forming process that uses dies and stamping presses to transform sheet metal into various shapes. Blanks, which are flat sheet metal pieces, are fed into a sheet-metal stamping press that uses a tool and die to form the metal into a new shape.

STAMPING, THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF STAMPING TECHNOLOGY
The stamping process mainly includes two basic operations:
Separation process: Separate materials through operations such as punching and shearing. For example, processes such as punching and trimming.
Forming process: By bending, stretching and other operations, the material is deformed without separation. For example, processes such as bending and deep drawing.
